What is the best way to do your will?

Is it necessary to pay a lawyer? What if I have property in another country? What´s the best way from avoiding the government from keeping your stuff if you pass away?

10,000 per year can be gifted - if it was intended to be part of your estate you could discuss this option with those that will inherit about giving them this money but not for them til your death- your accounts should be listed as POD accounts to those who you would will to, by doing this ist does not need to be in will - it is automatic- anything in your estate would require inheritance taxes- if you have property in other countries I am not familiar with the laws in some countries. You do not need a lawyer to make a will, you can get a will pac online - with a little research it would be free but be sure to have it notarized and witnessed, cross your T's and dot your I's, be sure to specifically state individual to rec'd, SS* included may want to be considered or clearly identify identify relationship to avoid someone challenging the will. make sure it is dated and initial all paragraphs, such as when you list items, also create a medical durable power of attorney which can rec'd form most Dr's or hospital websites- be sure to submit a copy to you physician.

The best way to do your will is to have an experienced estate lawyer prepare it. It will cost you several hundred dollars (or more if your estate plan is elaborate) but its cheap insurance against making a fatal mistake (no pun intended) by trying to do it yourself.

Through Primerica you can get a free will and much legal protection for a reasonable rate. No hassles with paying outrageous costs to a lawyer.
