The number that keeps poppng up on my caller ID is: (201) 373-8371. Anyone else having this problem?

I talked to someone earlier today from the number (twice) and told them to not call anymore. They called back about an hour ago (third time today). The person sounded Indian or Middle Eastern, but the number is a NJ area code. I think it might be an automatic dialer or something. Does anyone have "call blocker?" Does it work?

Call them back, repeatedly! Just call to chat. It will really piss them off.
If you have their number you have them by the short and curleys.

Don't you just hate that? So much for the "do not call list," huh?
What I would do is this: Next time this person calls, nicely but firmly tell them that you're not interested what they're selling and to please stop calling your number. They should get the message that you don't wish to be called again.
If they persist in calling, just hang up as soon as you see their number on your caller ID, then report it to your state consumer protection dept. with the times and dates they called. Perhaps they can muscle them a little bit.

You can always buy a really loud referee's whistle and blast it into the mouthpiece whenever your "friend" calls. This method really works! It's sort of like auditory pepper spray.

I used to be a telemarketer (did it for 4 days, har har) Next time they call pick up the phone and ask for their 1-800 number to have your number taken off their list, and presto no more annoying calls.

Tell them you would love to talk but you are very busy right now. Then ask them for their home number and tell them you will call them back later in the evening.

contact your state Attorney General's office. It shouldn't take long. Just tell them your caller id information and anything else you know about this caller. The fines for not putting you on the don't call list are onerous. They will cease to call you.
