What should I do about a corrupt county?

We live in a very small community in Northern California. My husband was arrested for making the statement "What do I Have to Do? Kill somebody to get their attention?" He was refering to his ex-employer, who refused to file a worker's compensation claim after he was injured on the job 10 months ago. He was speaking to his W.C attorney, who reported the statement to the employers' lawyers. Now he's facing 15 years in prison, we can't afford a defense attorney, and the two public defenders have Friday night 'get-togethers' with the D.A. Where can I turn for help?

Go to your local media practitioner, and if he/she is worth it, then maybe she could ventilate your problems to the public at large. With the media attention, maybe you could get a fair shake. However, if things become so bad, the only option would be to get out of that county for good.

Good luck to you.

I agree the more attention this gets the more interested people will become and you will get the backing from someone
