Today I received a notice of seeking possession claiming Which says under ground 11: The tenant has persistently delayed paying rent, which has become lawfully due.

5 months previous I received a letter saying I was in rent arrears which I was aware of and managed to get up to date with my rent by paying extra over a period of 2 months, As I pay by direct debit now every week I have not missed one single payment. Apart from the 5 months ago where I fell behind I have always made my payments. Even within the time period where I started to get into arrears, I still made payment on my rent.

Any way on my rent statements other then that one time I fell behind every week it shows a payment of £100. I pay £41 more then I am suppose to. Yet I have recieved a letter saying I have now gone from being £217 in rent to £526.08 in rent. I spoke to the Income recovery staff who are adament I owe this money and have every intention to take me to court.

May I add we received letters 2 weeks ago saying everyone would be evicted over the next 1 1/2 years as they are knocking the buildings down and rebuilding a variety of houses. We wioll be paid a compensation of £4,700 and moved to a band B. WE have to bid on property and re house ourselves.

Do you think this is there way of getting out of paying the compensation? Everyone on my floor has recieved a similar letter all varying from £1000 - £27. All claiming the same thing. Persistent delay in rent.

I have am waiting on calls back from solicitors but wanted some advice on where I stand.
Also with the letter is a copy of my entire rent statement and it shows every week a payment has been made of then full amount of rent, apart from the period of June 2010 - August 2010. But then it shows November 2010 that I was caught up with my arrears, yet 6 December I had gone from being caught up to back in arrears even thought every week from November a direct debit payment of £100 has been made. Not a single payment has been missed.
