I hope my friends across the pond can help this Yank:
A man has been told he can take his employer to tribunal on the grounds he was unfairly dismissed because of his views on climate change.
His solicitor, Shah Qureshi, said: "Essentially what the judgment says is that a belief in man-made climate change and the alleged resulting moral imperative is capable of being a philosophical belief and is therefore protected by the 2003 religion or belief regulations.

What the hell is going on over there?
Too many pints??..:-)
CHEWY IVAN: Thanks for helping but the story says more(I believe). It seems this man wanted to make his views a part of the company for which he works.
Whatever you call it, whether religion or philosophical views, why does the company not have the right to kick his butt out if his personal views interfere with business?
Answer by Dang that Kool-Aid's sour
Evidently, the man was just stupid.

No. The story does not imply that environmentalism is a religion. It only alleges that it is a philosophical belief on par with religion in terms of legitimacy under the law. Trying to intimidate people who hold views contrary to one's own about climate change by threatening their livelihoods is as bad as if it were done over religious reasons.

He can take him to tribunal but it does not say he will win his case. Here in America we are Kings of frivolous law suits. We really should not be pointing fingers at another countries practice of the law.
