A distrcit attorney is a lawyer either elected or appointed to represent a particular state in court, concerning a crminal matter. They prosecute a defendant in court.

Yes thats exactly what they are, They represent the "People", in the Form of the Government as in "We the People". So in cases like Criminal Law they are the Prosecutors.

The District Attorney is the lawyer for the public interests. That office has a team of lawyers who prosecute criminal cases.

Yes, he/she does represent the government. Ignore qvs.....whatever his name is, he's been sending the same reply regardless of the question on a ton of people.

The D.A. (District Attorney) has the final say as to whether criminal charges will be filed in any case in the U.S., and he/she (or a deputy thereof) would be the one to represent the State in any matter against such a defendant. Hope this helps explain.
