has anyone ever had a problem like this, we were bumped from the back by a person who has their insurance with the same insurance company. this happened two weeks ago and it has taken whilst today for them to say that the car can be repaired, this is good news but they now say the garage cant repair it under february. I work 20 miles away and am borrowing my brothers car at the moment while he is on nights but I am struggling to get to work after friday as he starts days again. the insurance have rang up saying we dont need solicitors and that they will sort it in house, is this legal. I am stumped I dont know what to do. I am fully comprehensive as is the other man and I am supposed to have had a hire car which I didnt and I dont really know how to approach them, has anyone any idea please? My car goes for its mot at the start of feb and it wont pass because of the accident damage!!

Ring you Insures and demand a Hire Car for yourself, as per your Comprehensive cover.

It might be the same parent company, but you each have your own separate policy. Contact your agent and tell them you can't do without a car for that long of a period, and need yours fixed or a rental to drive until it is. Just make the call and tell them, or you will get nothing.

Try to deal it out of pocket, otherwise insurance rates will go up much more. You can check how quotes will change here - autoinsurance.noneto.com

You are entitled to a rented car in place of your car while it is being repaired. In case they are not sending one, hire one yourself and send the bills to your car insurance company.
