Pennsylvania has a state insurance commission th handle things like this. Check your state agencies listing in the phone book. You could probablly get the info online also. Don't give up - it may be awhile longer until you get satisfaction.

Assuming you have already complained to the claims company that botched the work, if you are in North America, try the Better Business Bureau. Here is their website: http://welcome.bbb.org/. If you are in the U.S., each state has an Insurance Comissioner as well that you should be able to report abuse/negligence to.

BBB is good but if you contact your Attorney General they may be able to help you if you have the proper documentation.

What do you mean by they used a "dodgy engineer"? Why did they need to hire an expert? It should not take three years to settle a claim, unless this was a third party claim with very questionable liability. There is a reason why the insurance company acted/handled your claim the way they did.

Suggest you provide us with some more details.

Contact the department of insurance for your state. You can look it up on google. The DOI controls all insurance companies in your states. Tell them you'd like to report an "Unfair Claims Act" they'll know exactly what you're talking about

google it.

you're really leaving out some important information as Lawnboy pointed out above. It should not take 3 years to settle. ALso there is a statute of limitations and almost every state is 2 years. So you would have had to sue the other company to keep your statute in place. Also you had the choice to file with your own insurance compnay if you had full coverage.

Without MUCH more info, you'll only get opinions instead of real answers that you are wanting.
