I was the passenger of a car accident that happened 1 month ago. I thought i was ok but now i still have bruising on my thighs, my knee is still throbing at night, and my lower back hurts when i bend over. Im 18 years old and the driver hit a building going 50 mph. There car insurance called me but i know they want to rip me off and my mom thinks i should call a compensation lawyer before i go to the dr. again...idk what to do help me?

Give the insurance a chance before you hire a lawyer who will take up to 50% of any settlement.

You should give the insurance company some time to explain to you what they are willing to compensate you with first. If the amount they're giving you is ridiculously lower than what you deserve then that's when you should call a compensation attorney. But keep in mind though, that hiring a attorney means that he/she will receive a portion of your compensation if you win the case.

IF you have been injured in an accident, its not your fault, and it sounds to me as if you have some severe bruising and some back pain, go to the doctor get medically checked out, If you had some severe life changing injuries, then you would need a compensation attorney, If you have bumps and bruising but no broken bones, then make sure there are no lasting problems with your spine, this is the important part, so tell your doctor you are having back problems, and follow his directions to the letter, your settlement is related to how much your medical is in total. Lets hope your back is ok, its best to just tell the insurance company you are still seeing a doctor, then its wait and see until your back heals. It is not going to be necessary for a compensation attorney, with no permanent injuries ok?

Call the Insurance Company and tell them that you are still treating for your injuries and advise that you will call when you are released from the doctor. You do not have rush to make a settlement. Make sure that you are well, that is the important issue. Once the doctor confirms you are ok secure copies of all your medical bills and doctor reports and send copies to the adjuster for his evaluation. If you can not reach a fair settlement then you can contact a personal injury attorney. Don't let people influence your judgement by thinking this is a get rich scheme. You will be offerred the amount of your medical bills plus any loss wages from missing work due to the injury plus reasonable pain and suffering. Note! there is not a magic formula, each case is evaluated on its own merits. If you hire an attorney to negotiate your claim he will charge you between 33 and 40 % of the settlement amount. Good Luck
