Just curious.

I'm hoping to qualify as a solicitor, but I am curious as to how many hours you work each day.

Thanks to all helpful answers!

It depends as to what I have on really. On a normal day I'd work roughly from 9am to 7am with an hour for lunch. At busy times I could easily work from 8am to 11pm with no break.

Of course, it depends what type of law you practice and what type of firm you are at. I work at a medium sized City firm, but have friends at the some of the big firms who work until 10pm most nights. I also know people at high street firms practising family law and their average day is 9am to 5pm.

I start work at 6:30am and typically get off between 5:30pm to 6:00pm.
Except weekends when its 9:00am to 3:00pm Saturday and Sunday.
I only get 4 days off a month.
