I was recently hit by another car and both I had the passenger have terrible whiplash. How do I submit a claim for not only the medical costs but for compensation for the injury, do I need a lawyer or just go through the insurance company.

This was in california.

You need to contact your insurance company and they will point you in the right direction. You can also get your own lawyer. But you shouldn't expect them just to right a check. It will be up to you to prove that you have whiplash.

Call your Insurance agent or Company. I do not know the law in CA, but NY is a no fault state which means your company pays your medical bills. If you want to sue the other driver then you should call a lawyer after you file the claim. You need to act promptly and get medical verification. Sooner the better.

This should be covered on the auto insurance. Contact your agent and file a claim. If you don't think it's being handled correctly, or there are expenses that the insurance doesn't cover, then consult a lawyer.
