We have been invited by our solicitors to sign paperwork, to pay him the stamp duty and also his fees for the house that are purchasing. It mentions in the letter that we will need to provide buildings insurance that same day. does this mean that we will be the owners of the house when we leave. thanks in advance

You will "own" the beneficial interest as soon as the purchase price is delivered to the seller's agent.
